Best Medium Function 2018 Cubot Phone Under $100

The Cubot Nova and Cubot R11 are very similar phones they are both priced under $100 and they both have 5.5 inch 1440 x 720 pixels screens. They also have removable batteries which means they can be removed quickly and easily without the use of special tools which is a rarity nowadays as most phone batteries are built in. I decided to give the Cubot R11 and honourable mention but will not list as one of the 5 best Cubots of 2018 even though it was more popular than the Cubot Nova. It comes down to marketing the Cubot R11 got more of it and as consequence, I think it had the success the Cubot Nova was better suited for. The Cubot R11 does not have 4G the Cubot Nova, in fact, does as well as a few other advantages. The Secret to those advantages is in the MTK6739 Quad Core CPU with a clock speed of 1.5GHZ 3GB of Ram, 16GB of Rom and can accept an SD card of 128GB maximum.

Cubot released two very similar phones in 2018 the Cubot X18 Plus and Cubot P20 they even used the exact same CPU, they do have some differences. Best Rugged Cubot of 2018
Rugged phones are phones designed for durability and in 2017 Cubot released the Cubot King Kong and then in 2018 the Cubot King Kong 3 and no there was not a King Kong 2. The name King Kong screams durability in the smartphone world, corning named their Glass Gorilla glass after all. The first thing to note is that the Cubot King Kong 3 is more expensive than the Cubot King Kong however it's a lot more functional as a functional phone and not just a phone that functions reasonably in unreasonable condition, think of it as a highly functional phone that is rugged and not a functional rugged phone.
So which is better? If you want a lower priced rugged Android than the Cubot King Kong is the best rugged Cubot of but if you are willing to buck up allow me to elaborate on the Cubot King Kong 3.

CPU's
Central Processing Units are responsible for enabling phone performance and certain features. The Cubot King Kong's CPU the  MTK6580 supports 2G and 3G but not 4G it is Quad core CPU meaning that it has 4 Cores to help it operate and has a clock speed of 1.3GHZ, 2GB of Ram and 16GB Rom.

On the more functional side, the Cubot King Kong 3 operates using the  MTK6763T ( Helio P23 ) Octa-Core (8 Cores/technically 2 Quad Cores put together) Processor with a clock speed of 2.5GHz, 4GB of RAM and 64GB ROM. The MK6737T CPU supports 2G,3G and also 4G, unlike the Cubot Gorilla's MK6580 CPU.




The highest demand for Android phones is usually gaming, that's usually why most people are interested in their phones CPU performance. In An Antutu test, the Cubot King Kong 3 scored 90724 easily playing League of Legends but having difficulty with the more demanding games like PUBG Mobile sometimes there is lag and skipped frames. The Cubot Power uses the same CPU as the Cubot King Kong 3 except with more memory 6GB of Ram and 128GB of Rom. As the name suggests it has a lot of power supplied by a 6000mah battery. A high priced Android costing $199 dollars so you expect more than from a cheaper Android. In an Antutu test the Cubot Power scores around 94,000 beating the Cubot King Kong 3. The most obvious features that put it above all other Cubot Phones of 2018 is its CPU performance, memory, screen resolution and camera resolution it does not feature NFC like the King Kong 3. One thing it does have that other Cubot of 2018 does not is Dual Volte which makes it Cubots best 2018 4G phone.



Best Cubot Go Phone of 2018 
In 2018 Cubot released their phone Android Go phone the Cubot J3 and then the Cubot J3 Pro. Android Go is designed to work with phones that have 1GB or even 512MB of Ram. Low priced Androids tend to fall into the category of low ram and rom phones. Android Go has the minimum of preinstalled apps it optimizes space of for low Rom Androids to under 4GB, so on 16GB Rom phones like the Cubot J3 and J3 Pro this is a big deal, Android 8.0 and preinstalled app can easily take up 8 or 9GB of Rom. Normal Android does not work well on Android with low processing power and ram and some task can't be used at all. Android Go lets Low ram phones like the Cubot J3 and J3 Pro use Android Assistant which would have been impossible without a more powerful processor than these two phones possess. Android Go is a game changer for the poorer markets, one of the ways it saves space is by having special Android Go Apps that use less space than the other versions. Youtube Go tells you how much data a download is going to use before you download so you can get the most out of a limited and expensive data plan. Android Go also saves space by not including features that are not useful in those markets.


The reason I decided the Cubot J3 is one of the best Cubot phones of 2018 and not the Cubot J3 Pro even though it has 4G is that the J3 although inferior is cheaper and better suited towards those who would be more attracted to a phone with Android Go.  For the price of the Cubot J3 Pro, you can afford nearly afford a 3GB ram Cubot, the Cubot Nova is only $10 more.

The reason I'm going to call the Cubot King Kong 3 the best Cubot of 2018 is because of what I think it represents going into 2019.  The percentage of people using damaged phones is shocking, to quote a few statistics.

I believe the future of Android  phones are waterproof hard screened high-performance rugged phones like the Cubot King Kong 3 that will be able to endure without breaking, keep in mind most phones are damaged inside of the home because people feel more safe with them so even though it's marketed that way don't limit the practical use of rugged phones to outdoors people.
